ARMs MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

INTRODUCTION

The scheme is a voluntary industrial attachment training in various fields. The duration shall vary depending on the type of trade or profession.

Certification shall be given at the end of the training which would hopefully lead to employment and/or self sustainable employment.

 AIMS / OBJECTIVES

1] To engage unemployed peoples of African descent in meaningful manpower development.

2] The training shall lead to the issuance of certification by the company/organization to the individual after successful completion of the Program.

3] Incentives shall be provided by the company/organization.

4] The training skills provided shall be divided into the following sections; Technical, Corporate, Apprenticeship, Theoretical, and Professional.

5] To help in the legalization processes i.e. setting up an enterprise.

6] As a self employment programmes in various ways and fields of professions.

 THE SCHEMES 

SCHEME 1 – VOLUNTARY WORKS.

INTRO: These Voluntary works are to be in different categories i.e. [a] Self Voluntary  [b] Communal Efforts [c] Terminal Works [d] Professional offer e.g. teaching. [e] Apprenticeship. These are to be realized in these different Phases…..

1st Phase – Contact with Authorities, Organizations, Individuals and Firms that offers and accepts our proposals.

2nd Phase – Establishing the Legal and frame works between the two Parties [Volunteer and Employer] and ARMs & the two parties, Process and Durations of the works, Incentives.

3rd Phase – Mobilization by administrating of the Scheme by appointing Coordinator, Team-Leader, formulating coordination strategy and Orientation Training/Lecture for potential candidates.

TRIAL Phase – These shall be an In-House trial of some of the Programmes by and within the  ARMs members confine as a Test for experience and over view of what might be expected, In-depth studies shall be made also.

       Date of Take-Off shall be – MAY 2004 and to last for 3 months of which a review shall be made.

       TYPES/CATEGORIES OF VOLUNTARY WORKS

 

SCHEME 2 – PROFESSIONAL TRAINING / APPRENTICESHIP.

 

INTRO: This is a form of Learning a Profession on the Job [work & learn], Apprenticeship and Training could be of various level [a] Technical [b] Theoretical [c] Professional etcetera.….

 

1st Phase – Tabulation of Professions available for contacts with Institutions, Firms, Enterprises that offers to accept candidates.

 

2nd Phase- Official approval and admissions of candidates, Legal proceedings, training durations, incentives, types of training, and certification.

 

3rd Phase- Mobilizing prospective candidates, co-ordination and planning, Orientation, Workshop/and lecture.

TYPES OF PROFESSION AND APPRENTICESHIP

 

SCHEME 3- SELF EMPLOYMENT.

 

INTRO: This is an enterprising  venture of self employment in various profession, businesses, enterprises, that are viable and affordable as income and money making avenues.

 

1st Phase- Creating various enterprises, writing proposals on each, making feasibility studies and viability.

 

2nd Phase-Making out the legality, financial obligations, training for the handling and expertise.

 

3rd Phase-Mobilizing  candidates, personnel management, co-ordination.

 

TRIAL Phase-These shall be an In-House trial of some of the Programmes by and within the  ARMs members confine as a Test for experience and over view of what might be expected, In-depth studies shall be made also.

TYPES OF ENTERPRISES AND BUSINESSES

 

SCHEME 4- ARMs IN –HOUSE  TRAINING.

 

INTRO:This is the in-house training of Arms members and other candidates by professionals and experts in the field who are to be persons of African  descent.

 

1st Phase-Identifying courses that are available for training, making available the time and space( Location), linking up with teachers and instructors.

 

2nd Phase- Formulation of rules and regulations, schedules, programmes, etcetera.

 

3rd Phase- Mobilizing prospective candidates, co-ordination and logistics, orientation, lecture and workshop.

 

TRIAL Phase- These shall be an In-House trial of some of the Programmes by and within the  ARMs members confine as a Test for experience and over view of what might be expected, In-depth studies shall be made also.

 

Date of Take-Off shall be – MAY 2004 and to last for 3 months of which a review shall be made.

 

TYPES OF COURSES………………………

       RULES AND REGULATIONS GUIDING A.M.D  PROGRAMME. 

1.     Each member of the project team has to be alive to his or her responsibility. For example by being prompt and responsive to appointments and duties.

2.     Each of the participants in the project should have two guarantors, one from within ARMS and the second, a person of repute from the wider society.

3.     To participate in this programme, one un-negotiable criteria is to be a member of ARMS. Withdrawal from ARMS in the course of the programme tantamount to withdrawal from the programme itself.

4.   During the course of the programme participants are to be fully involved  in  the day to day ,or week to week activities of ARMS in order  to ensure that he or she fully lives within the purview of ARMS” aims and objectives as well as being responsive to the programme itself.

5.   Any act of indiscipline, irresponsibility or frivolous behaviour  shall in no circumstances be condoned from stealing to lateness to any display of irrational attitude etc in any assigned place of work.

6.   ARMS reserves the right to withdraw a participant during the process of  the  programme if he or she is confirmed to behave contrary to the set norms and values of the organization.

7.   Where ARMS disowns any member and the company to which the individual is recommended decides to retain such a person, that company or individual does that at his or their own risk.

8.    Where any participant have any disagreements or biases against his or her employer, he or she must not take laws into his or her hands, such a one is advised to exercise restraint, to report to the programme coordinator his grudges for proper guidance counseling; who would either mediate or consult with the entire project team for the right overstanding to manage such crisis. This is to ensure that such doors are not closed against ARMS future participants

9.   Incentives like financial support or otherwise i.e. logistics, transport, housing and feeding for the participant shall be required from the employer.

10.  ARMS shall provide financial support to the participants if available and if necessary.

11.  In special circumstances forms of scholarship might be solicited on behalf of the participants by ARMs.

12.  Legal backing and procedures to be made available for the participants by ARMS.

13.  The employer reserves the right to reject or dismiss a participant after due or proper consultation with ARMS,   if he or she  is found wanting.

14. In case of accident or injury during the course of this programme, proper medical assistance and support shall be given by ARMS and the employer.

15. Reports (weekly or monthly) on the participant shall be made available to ARMS by the employer.

16. The participants shall always give progress report on his activities to the project team.

17. Quarterly reports on the general programme shall be made available to the house by the project team.
